HARRISBURG (AP) – Gov.-elect Tom Wolf is spending some time a few days before his swearing-in by touring the Pennsylvania Farm Show with the man he’s picked to head the state Agriculture Department.

Wolf took in the sights and scents at the nation’s largest indoor agricultural event for about two hours Thursday, shaking hands and posing for photos while other visitors craned their necks for a glimpse of him.

Meanwhile, crews are erecting portable bleachers behind the Capitol in preparation for Tuesday’s inauguration.

He was joined by his choice for agriculture secretary, Russell Redding, who briefly held the post during Gov. Ed Rendell’s administration. Redding is the dean of agriculture and environmental sciences at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown. His family has an Adams County dairy farm.
