Three West Greene students honored
ROGERSVILLE – West Greene Area Lions Club named three West Greene High School seniors – Lily Loughman, Anthony Jacobs and Renee Elizabeth Salai – as its outstanding students of the month.
Loughman, daughter of Max and Kelly Loughman of Sycamore, is president of the National Honor Society, science club, ski club, jazz, concert and marching bands where she is the woodwind captain.
She also is a member of student government and is secretary of the senior class.
Still undecided on which college to attend, she would like to study pre-medicine and become a general practitioner.
Jacobs, son of Mark and Laura Jacobs of Sycamore, has maintained highest honors throughout his freshman, sophomore and junior years, was a participant in the mock trial competition and was a member of the engineering club.
He plans to attend college and major in business management or business law.
Salai, daughter of Michael and Carol Salai of Wind Ridge, is secretary of the National Honor Society and is the drum major in the marching band. She also participates in the concert and jazz bands.
She also is a member of the art club, science club, ski club and works on several school publications. She is a member of the Girl Scouts and president of the 4-H Sewing Club.
Outside of school, she is a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, and participates in various community service projects through 4-H and her church.
Salai plans to attend a four-year university and major in psychology.
