Rain Day Race registration being held

Registration is being held for runners and walkers who want to participate in the 37th annual Rain Day Race, which will be held July 25, on Porter Street in Waynesburg.
Registration for the annual 5K run and walk and the one-mile kids’ fun run are being accepted through July 17. Runners and walkers also can register the day of the race.
Those who pre-register benefit from reduced entry fees. The first 50 who register also will receive free admission to Greene County Water Park on the day of the race.
Proceeds from the annual race benefit Greene County Habitat for Humanity.
Registration forms are available at the Habitat office, 32 Church St., Waynesburg, or online at the www.iplayoutside.com website.
The fee for those pre-registering is $15 for the 5K run/walk and $10 for the kids’ fun run. Runners and walkers who register early will receive a T-shirt.
The fee for registration on race day is $18 for the 5K run/walk and $12 for the kids’ fun run.
Registration will be held the day of the race beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the parking lot behind McCracken’s Pharmacy at 595 E. High St., Waynesburg.
The kids’ fun run will begin at 9 a.m. and the 5K run/walk at 9:30 a.m.
The race will begin on Porter Street at High Street and follow Porter Street out and then back. The course includes rolling hills and a water stop at the halfway mark.
Awards will be given in several categories: The top three overall male and female runners in the 5K run/walk; the top three male and female finishers in each age group in the 5K run/walk and the kids’ fun run; and the top five male and female walkers. All finishers in the kids’ fun run will receive ribbons.
The age groups for the kids’ fun run are 5 & Under, ages 6-7, 8-9 and 10-12.
For the 5K run/walk, the age groups are 14 & Under,15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and older.
