A Canton Township man was arrested Wednesday by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force after he allegedly sold suspected heroin to a confidential informant twice in the past eight days.

Jason Anthony “Metal” Milone, 34, of 117 Laddie Drive, was taken into custody at his home by task force detectives and members of the state police vice unit. He is charged with two counts of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The task force launched an investigation after getting complaints from residents in the area about the amount of activity at Milone’s home, said Rick Gluth, task force director.

Arrangements were made to have the informant purchase heroin from Milone on two occasions at undisclosed locations June 30 and July 1.

On June 30, task force detectives saw Milone get out of the passenger side of a vehicle and approach a vehicle in which the informant was seated and reach inside while holding a white object. The informant was then seen handing Milone what appears to be the official funds provided to him by the task force. The informant reportedly purchased six stamp bags of suspected heroin for $60. A similar transaction occurred the following day, according to court documents, with the informant reportedly purchasing six more stamp bags for $60.

“We encourage help from the public,” Gluth said. “We do investigate complaints, although it make take awhile to see results. We pursue all of them.”

At about 1 p.m., a Pittsburgh man whose vehicle was stopped by police on Jefferson Avenue near Cortez Drive fled from police on Cortez and Laddie drives before driving through a yard at 329 Laddie Drive and running into a wooded area, leaving a woman in the car. Police set up a perimeter and Brandon Green, 30, came out of the woods in the 100 block of Laddie a short time later.

He was arraigned on charges of fleeing and eluding, driving under the influence and resisting arrest. Green, who state police said has a criminal record that includes drug and fleeing charges, had $2,500 in his possession when arrested.

Assisting in capturing Green were Washington police, task force detectives and Washington County sheriff’s deputies.

It was not immediately known where Green was being held.

Milone was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Greene County jail on $25,000 bond. It is not clear why he was lodged at that facility. He is scheduled for an Aug. 19 preliminary hearing before Mark. Milone is the fourth person arrested this week by the task force.
