ERIE (AP) – A coroner said someone killed a 14-month-old Pennsylvania girl with heroin.

The Erie Times-News reported the Erie County coroner determined Tieairee Marie Henderson Rodriguez’s overdose death in February was a homicide – meaning someone gave her the heroin – not an accident or natural death.

District Attorney Jack Daneri and Erie police said the case remains under investigation though nobody has been charged.

The girl’s mother, Felisha Martinez, tells the newspaper she passed a lie detector test and doesn’t know how her daughter received the heroin. The girl’s father, Julio Rodriguez, said he’s hoping police can solve the case.

A coroner’s report showed investigators went so far as to exhume the girl’s casket in April, after learning a baby bottle was placed inside with her. The bottle tested negative for drugs.
