Trap stolen: Joseph Smith of Giffin Avenue told Canonsburg police Thursday an animal trap was stolen from under his pickup truck.
Package stolen: Kimberlee Brennan told Canonsburg police Thursday a package ordered by Robert O’Neil was stolen from her front porch. The package, delivered by United Parcel Service, contained an item valued at $1,038.
Concert arrest: Stephen Tobia, 36, of Somerset, Mass., was arrested Thursday morning by Hanover Township police at First Niagara Pavilion on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and traffic violations stemming from a traffic stop at the entrance to the venue. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Crash causes outage: A vehicle driven by Daniel V. Henthorne, 40, of Holly Road, Wheeling, W.Va., slid while traveling south on Galley Road at 8 p.m. Thursday, spun sideways and hit a utility pole, township police said. The vehicle then went down an embankment and came to rest in a nearby creek. Power lines were knocked down, causing some homes to lose power. Henthorne was not injured, police said.
Charger stolen: Jordan Engle, 930 Broad St., told Washington police Thursday his iPhone charger was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked near his home.
Drill, battery stolen: Arthur Mull, 260 Linn Ave., told Washington police Thursday a 12-volt battery, drill and charger were stolen from his home. He found the items at a Washington resale shop. Charges are pending against the alleged thief.
Welding leads stolen: Ronald Shultz told Washington police Thursday that six sets of welding leads valued at $2,500 were stolen from his building at 728 Henderson Ave. A trailer containing tools also was damaged.
Defiant trespass: A homeless man was charged by the Washington County sheriff’s office with defiant trespass and disorderly conduct for an incident Friday. According to the complaint, James D. Rock was advised by the deputies to leave the Courthouse Square building numerous times. Rock went back to the property around 1:50 p.m. He was also caught on a courthouse camera taking rugs and moving them. Charges will be sent by summons.
