Accused of kicking mother: Brandon Matthew Bane, 18, of Fredericktown, was charged by state police with harassment for allegedly kicking his mother in the leg during an argument Friday morning inside a garage at 291 Route 481, Centerville.
Assault arrest: Brent Stewart, 37, of 501 Fifth St., Donora, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Donora police on charges of simple assault and terroristic threats. He is accused of threatening to cut the throats of four people at the Lioness Community Care home, where he resides. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Theft case: Kendall T. Tuten, 54, of Humbolt, Tenn., is charged by state police with two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property, court records show. Police accuse him of stealing a welder and related equipment worth more than $1,500 from an employee of C.J. Hughes Construction Co., which is also a victim in the case, Sunday or Monday from a project at 981 Route 917. Tuten is in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond set Tuesday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Warrant arrest: Christopher Michael Nemeth, 42, of Imperial, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant obtained by McDonald police on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of paraphernalia. He is accused of selling 10 stamp bags of heroin to a confidential informant in Heritage Park on two occasions, once in September 2013 and again the following month. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Retail theft: Peters police are looking for a man who ran from Kmart, 4041 Washington Road, McMurray, on Saturday after taking eight packages of Crest White Strips. The man got into a car that was parked in front of the store. The incident remains under investigation.
Theft arrest: Syna McOsker, 38, of 904 Chartiers St., Washington, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by South Strabane police on a charge of retail theft after she allegedly stole items valued at $158 from Kohl’s, Strabane Square. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
KOA incidents: Sean Lee Stokes of Rocky Face, Ga., told South Strabane police Tuesday morning that 2,000 feet of copper wire and a tool bag containing a cordless wrench and two 18-volt lithium batteries were stolen from the bed of his pickup truck while it was parked at KOA Campground, KOA Road. Later that day, in the same area of the campground, a 10-year-old Oklahoma girl who is living there told police that she was being followed by a Hispanic man wearing a dark hooded shirt pulled up tight around his face and dark sweatpants. She ran to get help from family and friends at the campground’s swimming pool.
Drug arrest: Pamela Hasson, 39, of 123 W. Walnut St., Washington, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant obtained by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force. She is accused of selling heroin to a confidential informant in a parking lot on East Wylie Avenue in May. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Pool building burglarized: The manager of Washington Park pool on Dunn Avenue told Washington police Tuesday that the building next to the entrance was burglarized. A safe containing $460 and paychecks was stolen.
Trimmer stolen: Mark Chess of 455 Allison Ave. told Washington police Tuesday that his gas-powered weed trimmer was stolen from outside his home.
Harassment charge: John Kosek II, 19, of 54 Acheson Ave., will be charged with harassment by Washington police after he allegedly pulled the hair of Christie Shumer during a confrontation at their home Tuesday.
