Home burglarized: John Moore of 336 S. Central Ave. told Canonsburg police early Saturday his daughter awoke to find a woman in her bedroom. The intruder told his daughter another acquaintance told her to go into the house. Police said it appears the woman tampered with a kitchen window to enter the home. Moore reported a 9 mm handgun was stolen. Police talked with the alleged intruder and are continuing the investigation.
Vehicle damaged: Amy Rogalsky of 222 Vine St. told Canonsburg police Friday her vehicle was damaged while it was parked outside her home.
Vehicle dented: Kaylyn A. McMurdy of 518 McKee Road, Canton, told state police Friday that her vehicle was dented by vandals.
Theft arrests: Chaz A. Selinsky, 22, and Gabrielle Mungo, 18, both of 820 Sixth St., Elizabeth, are charged by city police with theft, accused of stealing $10,000 from Jonathan Anthony’s apartment at 1213 Chess St. between June 16 and June 18, court records show. Selinsky also is charged with burglary in the case. He is free on $10,000 bond set Friday by District Judge Mark Wilson. Mungo is free on $5,000 bond also set Friday by Wilson.
Two injured: Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on the ramp from Route 519 southbound to Route 19 southbound. North Strabane police said a vehicle driven by Joette Zaucha, 59, of 309 Munnell St., Canonsburg, was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Jessica Schmitt, 28, of 207 Munnell St., Canonsburg. Zaucha told police she was trying to pull onto Route 19 but had to stop suddenly because of oncoming traffic. Schmitt was taken to Canonsburg Hospital. Zaucha also was slightly injured.
Hubcaps stolen: David A. Alessio of Monessen told North Strabane police Friday three hubcaps were stolen from his Toyota Corolla while it was parked in the garage at the Meadows Casino, 200 Racetrack Road.
Simple assault: Police were called Sunday to the Grand Slam Lounge, 4205 Washington Road, McMurray, for a report of an assault. Police said Hobart Moore Jr., 23, of Pineview Drive, Canonsburg, had been drinking at the bar, where he is also employed. They say Allysha Reppert, 20, of Taylor Drive, McMurray, also an employee and Moore’s former girlfriend, offered to drive him home. In the parking lot of the bar, however, Moore became upset, slammed the doors on Reppert’s vehicle and then began to choke her, police said. Upon hearing the commotion outside the bar, the owner of the business, G. Thomas Grande, 38, of Washington, went outside to help. Police said Grande fired Moore, who then assaulted him. Moore faces two counts of simple assault.
Two vehicle accident: Two vehicles had to be towed following an accident Friday in the 2800 block of Washington Road. According to police, Patrick T, Vopal, 18, of Pinetree Drive, Pittsburgh, was driving south on Washington Road and failed to notice traffic was stopped. Police said he hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Andrew Maul, 47, of Climax Street, Pittsburgh. Maul was taken by ambulance to St. Clair Hospital, complaining of neck and head pain.
Woman assaulted: Dominic Abate, 39, of 9 Dunbar Ave., Slovan, is charged by township police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records state. He is accused of dragging his estranged wife, Alicia Abate, from his house about 7 p.m. Saturday. He is free on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Vehicle damaged: Deanna Laughlin of California told South Strabane police Friday that her vehicle was damaged while it was parked at Tanger Outlets.
Burglary, threats arrest: Patrick Parkman, 23, of 306 Lincoln Terrace, Washington, was arrested early Monday by Washington police after he allegedly broke into the Lincoln Terrace apartment of his cousin, Sherrane Sutton. She told police the two got into an argument and Parkman allegedly went outside and broke the windows on her car. When police arrived, he allegedly fled across Highland Avenue, where he was taken into custody. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson on charges of burglary, terroristic threats and resisting arrest. He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Medication stolen: Joseph Jupin of the 100 block of Church Street told Washington police Friday several bottles of his prescription medication were stolen during his move from North Main Street to Church Street.
Vehicle damaged: Jason Cossu of 291 E. Prospect St. told Washington police Friday vandals damaged his vehicle.
Units entered: Washington police are investigating reports that storage units at Joey’s Storage, 15 Wallace Lane, were entered. One of the renters, Dina Lucas of Amwell Township, reported two televisions were stolen from her unit.
Crash reported: Justin McCullough, 23, of 60 Oakwood Ave., Canton Township, was taken to Washington Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, after his vehicle crashed into other vehicles early Saturday at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and West Chestnut Street, Washington police said.
Charged in assaults: Joshua Fields, 22, of 950 Addison St., Washington, and Tyler A. Lash, 19, of 736 Ewing St., Washington, were charged Monday with simple assault by Washington police stemming from a July 8 incident in the 700 block of Ewing. Fields is accused of punching Melvin Anderson, while Lash is accused of punching Roger Anderson. Lash also is charged with criminal mischief for allegedly kicking Roger Anderson’s pickup truck. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Paraphernalia charge: Tammie Louise Lilley, 42, of 92 Moon Road, Washington, was charged Monday by state police with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a July 11 traffic stop on Grove Avenue at West Chestnut Street. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
