South Strabane police charge several with lying on gun applications

South Strabane Township police charged several men who allegedly falsified information on applications to purchase guns.

Charged last week with providing false information and unsworn falsification were Woodrow W. Prentice, 35, of 448 Main St., New Eagle; Joseph Sherba, 54, of 295 Hawthorne St., Canonsburg; Shawn I. Dulany, 38, of 638 Water Dam Road, Waynesburg; Casey J. Clark, 37, 163 Center St., Millsboro; James P. Miller, 24, of 170 Second St., Clarksville; Adam R. Greene, 30, of 20 Fishpot Road, Vestaburg; and Michael J. Tandarich, 39, of South Park.

Police said Prentice, Sherba and Tandarich were trying to buy guns at Ace Sporting Goods, Washington Road. Dulany, Clark and Miller were trying to buy guns at Field and Stream, Old Mill. Greene was trying to buy one at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Strabane Square.

Charges against the men will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
