UNIONTOWN (AP) – A Western Pennsylvania woman accused of having sex with a 14-year-old boy is facing charges of statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors.

Connellsville resident Crystal Shroyer did not testify during her preliminary hearing Wednesday in Central Court in Uniontown.

The victim, now 15, testified he was acquainted with the 32-year-old’s family and occasionally texted her. He says he cut an ankle-monitoring bracelet sometime in March and went to Shroyer’s house, where the two drank liquor and smoked marijuana before having sex.

The boy was then sent to a juvenile facility where he and Shroyer exchanged letters for two months.

Trooper Joseph Ross testified Shroyer told him during a July 1 interview that the two had sex, but denied giving him alcohol.

Shroyer declined to comment on the case.
