ERIE AP) – Authorities in northwestern Pennsylvania say one teenager was killed and six other people wounded in what police described as a “shootout” on an Erie street.

Investigators told the Erie Times-News that the violence apparently erupted just before midnight Friday after a large gathering of young people near a city residence.

Police said many teenagers apparently went to the home, possibly for a party, after attending an Erie Lions Club all-star football game earlier in the evening.

Coroner Korac Timon said a 16- or 17-year-old youth was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m. Saturday. Another victim was reported in critical condition.

Police said two of the shooting victims showed up at Saint Vincent Hospital and weren’t cooperating with investigators. Four others were taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment.
