Fire destroyed a garage on Walnut Hill Road in Dunkard Township Monday morning.

The Bobtown Volunteer Fire Co. was called at 7:48 a.m., but the wood-frame garage was already “on the ground” when firefighters arrived on scene, fire Chief Randy Pritchard said. The cause of the fire is unknown.

The garage was on property on which a house burned down many years ago, Pritchard said. The name of the owner was not known.

The Greensboro-Monongahela Township Volunteer Fire Co. was called to assist.
