Jefferson-Morgan to graduate 60
Jefferson-Morgan High School will graduate 60 students at its commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. Thursday. The ceremony will take place in the Stanley Fowler Auditorium.
The valedictorian is David Blosser. He is a son of Greg and Michelle Blosser of Jefferson.
Blosser was awarded the John Montgomery Scholarship at Dickinson College, Russell Guthrie Memorial Scholarship, Renardo A. Matteucci Family Scholarship and the Kormuth Award of Achievement. He also achieved high honors all through high school, along with being a part of the Penn State 4.0 Club.
Blosser placed first in the Greene County Law Day Essay Contest and received Challenge Program awards for community service, academic excellence and attendance.
Blosser was president of the Foreign Language Club, vice president of National Honor Society and a member of Leo Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Science Olympiad Team and The Future is Mine. He also served in multiple class officer positions, including senior class president. Blosser has performed more than 300 hours of volunteer work.
Following graduation, Blosser plans to attend Dickinson College to pursue a double major in biochemistry and Spanish.
The salutatorian is Baye Summers. She is a daughter of Jack and Amber Bergstein of Clarksville.
Summers was awarded a $12,000-per-year scholarship from Arizona State University. She is a member of the National Honor Society, United States Achievement Academy, National Society of High School Scholars, Congress of Future Medical Leaders. Her school activities include Leo Club, Academic Team, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Art Club and Interact Club. She volunteers her time at Greene County Humane Society and Cherry Door.
Following graduation, Summers plans to attend Arizona State University to pursue a degree in forensic science.
