Bentworth High to graduate 86
Bentworth High School will hold commencement ceremonies for 86 graduates at 6 p.m. Thursday at the high school.
Valedictorian is Grace Sumney, and salutatorian is Lindsay Heinz.
Sumney is a daughter of Scott and Beverly Sumney of Bentleyville. She plans to attend Waynesburg University to study nursing.
She received the American Legion Award and was an Athena Award representative. Sumney received the Washington Hospital Auxiliary scholarship was named a Bonner Scholar at Waynesburg University.
Her high school activities include president of the National Honor Society, vice president of Senior Council, drum major in the marching band, treasurer of the Leo Club and president of the Washington Health System Junior Volunteers.
Heinz is a daughter of Steven and Lisa Heinz of Scenery Hill. She plans to attend Westminster University to study occupational therapy.
She received the Zonta and Presidential Excellence awards. Heinz was the majorette captain of the band, and she participated in Senior Council, National Honor Society, FOR Club, Washington Health System Junior Volunteers, Blessings in a Backpack and will participate in the Westminster dance line.
