Identity theft: Gary Ryan, 50, of 11 North St., Canonsburg, was arraigned last week before District Judge David Mark on a charge of identity theft filed by Canonsburg police. He is accused of calling Clearview Credit Union and transferring $2,300 from an account his wife has with her father as a beneficiary to another account at the credit union. He then withdrew money from the other account. He was released on his own recognizance.

Teens charged: Three teenage boys, ages 15, 16 and 17, will be charged by state police with criminal mischief after they allegedly threw eggs on a house and several vehicles on Almond Street and Wherry Road in Ellsworth.

Deserter arrested: Joshua Alan Michael, 25, of Chester, W.Va., was arrested as a fugitive from justice after state police learned he was wanted by the U.S. Army on a charge of desertion. State police spotted a disbled truck parked along the shoulder of Interstate 79 near the Racetrack Road exit, North Strabane. Michael was standing outside the vehicle. When the police checked, the trooper learned of the warrant. Michael was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County jail without bond until he is extradited by the Army.

Driver charged: A Library man will be charged by summons for possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with an expired registration. Police said a vehicle driven Brandon Anthony, 22, of Piney Bluff Drive, Library, cut in front of a vehicle driven by Theresa Murphy, 57, of Fieldbrook Drive, McMurray, in the 4200 block of Washington Road Tuesday, and struck it. No one was hurt.

Harassment: Dina Nagy of Walton Road, Union Township, was cited for harassment after an incident Sunday on Gun Club Road, Elrama, Southwest Regional police said.

Man assaulted: Washington police determined Joshua Fields, 22, of 950 Addison St., was apparently cut with a knife during a disturbance Tuesday night near Hart Avenue and Broad Street. Fields refused to cooperate with police and refused treatment by ambulance personnel. Edward Simms, 45, of 890 Ewing St., admitted to being in a fight with a man he claimed not to know. Police found razor knives and a tissue with blood on it in Simms’ trash. Simms was placed in Washington County jail on a domestic relations warrant. He will not be charged with assault because of Fields’ lack of cooperation, police said.

Cellphone stolen: Thomas Pantaleono of North Strabane told Washington police Tuesday his cellphone was stolen while he was charging it in an outlet outside Family Dollar, Highland Avenue.
