Trinity High School to graduate 233
Trinity High School will graduate 233 seniors at its commencement ceremony at 6:15 p.m. Friday at the high school.
Valedictorians are Stepher Aber, Forrest Cullings, Michael Hilzendeger and Kyle Kozlowski. Salutatorian is Austin Plunkett and honor graduate is Preston Kulla.
Aber is the son of Mary and Scott Aber. He received the Case Western Reserve University Scholarship and Academic Merit Scholarship, Model United Nations Best and Outstanding Delegate award, and placed third in the state American Legion oratorical contest. He was captain of both the mock trial and debate teams, historian for National Honor Society, student representative to the school board, chairman of the leadership committee and a member of the cross country, tennis and volleyball teams. He has been the regional champion for mock trial three consecutive years and was a national debate qualifier.
He will attend Case Western Reserve University to major in engineering.
Cullings is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dobbin. He received the Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship and the First Commonwealth Bank “Time to be First” Scholarship. His awards include the American Legion Award and DAR Award and he was named an AP Scholar with Distinction. He was the president of student council, president of National Honor Society and a member of SADD. He was also the captain and quarterback of the football team, where he was an all-conference selection, and a WPIAL qualifier for the swim team. He was named Mr. Trinity. Following graduation, Cullings will attend Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University to pursue a degree in business administration, and will participate in Navy ROTC and play football.
Hilzendeger is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hilzendeger. He was a recipient of the Kiwanis Club Scholarship and the Harvard Prize Book. He was a member of both National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society, of which he was co-president. Hilzendeger was captain of the Math League and a member of Academic League. He serves as director at large and on the board of directors of the Washington Symphony Orchestra.
Hilzendeger will attend the University of Virginia’s College of Arts and Sciences to major in biology and biostatistics.
Kozlowski is the son of Kevin and Victoria Kozlowski.
Kozlowski was a National Merit finalist and an AP Scholar with Distinction. He received the Samsung American Legion Scholarship, Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship, 3M Company National Merit Scholarship, Washington Financial Scholarship, Dr. Douglas A. Masciola Rotary Club Academic Achievement Scholarship, the Challenge Program Community Service Award and Academic Excellence Award and the PHEAA Certificate of Merit. He was a member of the Academic League, Math League, cross country team, volleyball team, National Honor Society and Model United Nations, Science Olympiad. He was peer jury foreman and school board representative.
Kozlowski plans to attend Carnegie Mellon Univeristy to pursue a degree in engineering.
Plunkett is the son James and Paige Plunkett.
Plunkett received the Recycling Research Foundation Scholarship, D. Jack and Geraldine L. Gaido Scholarship, the Trinity High School Economics Award and the Citizenship Award. He was an AP Scholar with Distinction, vice president of National Honor Society, a member of Math League, golf and tennis teams, and Model European Union. He was a student council representative and math tutor.
Plunkett will attend the University of North Carolina to major in business administration.
Kulla is the son of Charles and Rhonda Kulla.
Kulla was captain of the soccer team and was named to the all-section and all-WPIAL teams. He was secretary of National Honor Society, and a member of the speech and debate teams, Youth Traffic Safety and was president of Students Against Destructive Decisions.
Kulla will attend Penn State University to pursue a degree in business.
