Teens in custody in W.Va. after crime spree

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two armed Ohio teenagers who authorities suspect engaged in a crime spree spanning state borders has been apprehended.

The sheriff’s office in Wyandot County, Ohio, said it got word about noon Saturday that a 16-year-old boy from Upper Sandusky and a 15-year-old girl from Sycamore, Ohio, were in the custody of West Virginia State Police after a police pursuit.

Authorities said the two, who had a gun, crashed a vehicle stolen in Pennsylvania and fled on foot for a distance before they were caught.

The Wyandot County sheriff said West Virginia and Pennsylvania state police are jointly investigating a series of crimes they believe is connected to the juveniles.

Their parents have been notified and are traveling to New Martinsville, to meet with investigators.
