BEAVER (AP) – A mother and daughter were ordered to trial on charges they illegally sold prescription anti-anxiety medication to a high school student who later died of an overdose of the same kind of medication and heroin.

The Beaver County Times reported drug delivery charges were held for trial Monday in the case of 41-year-old Danielle Hrelec and 20-year-old Brandi Spohn.

They were charged in December after the death of 17-year-old Dominisk Treemarchi of Monaca days before he was to play in Central Valley High’s PIAA Class AAA football championship game.

Authorities alleged the defendants sold Treemarchi 17 Xanax pills, but they aren’t charged with having caused his death. Two 18-year-olds who were with him when he overdosed are charged with involuntary manslaughter and other counts.
