Family Stability Community Team, in collaboration with Safe Communities Team of MAGIC, will hold MAGIC Goals Soccer Camp this month at the Carmichaels Area High School soccer field.

The free camp is for children ages 6 to 18 and will be held June 16, 19, 23 and 26, each day from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The goal of the camp isn’t just to enhance soccer skills, but to encourage team building and leadership skills, along with promoting self-esteem among youth. The camp provides a positive alternative activity for the summer months. Each day of the camp will feature a speaker to educate the participants about healthy behavior choices, such as nutrition and tobacco prevention.

MAGIC Goals is a collaborative effort with support from the Greene County commissioners, among various other community volunteers and agencies.

They include Greene County Human Services Program, Value Behavioral Health, Greene County Probation, Greene County MAGIC Collaborative, Greene County Tobacco Control Program, Greene County Early Intervention Program, Greene County Children and Youth Services, Greene County Drug and Alcohol Program and Greene County Child Care Information Services.

The MAGIC collaborative is comprised of a steering committee and community teams. The purpose of the collaborative is to create an integrated, coordinated community and family-based service delivery system to meet the health, education and community needs of Greene County residents.
