Xi Lambda Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will meet at 6 p.m. today at the home of Sue and Sara Christopher. Secret sisters will be revealed and new secret sisters will be appointed. Members are asked to bring a covered dish. Meat will be provided.

Ambassadors for Christ will be at First Christian Church, Morris and Franklin streets, Waynesburg, Sunday. The service will be at 10:30 a.m.

Local historian and Warrior Trail member Bill Miller will be sharing his research on local historical figure John Corbly at the group’s covered dish meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 18. Miller’s presentation, called “Reverend John Corbly and Early Religious Endeavors West of the Appalachians,” will be at the Warrior Trail’s headquarters in Fordyce. Purple Heart Chapter 34 will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. June 19 at Carmichaels VFW Post 3491. All members are urged to attend. For more information, contact Purple Heart Chapter 34 Commander Frank Smith at 724-833-9261.

Greene County Human Services will host a free youth mental health first aid training session from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 30. The training will be held in the large conference room on the third floor of the Greene County Human Services section of the Fort Jackson Building in Waynesburg. Anyone can take the eight-hour course, but it is designed for adults, including teachers, coaches, faith leaders and social workers who work with young people ages 12 to 18. Register by calling 724-852-5276 ext. 676, or by sending an email to mgarrett@co.greene.pa.us. The registration deadline is June 19.

Riverfest, organized by Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Department, will be held from 4 p.m. to midnight Friday and noon to midnight Saturday at the lock wall of the former Rices Landing Lock and Dam. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. A free shuttle and parking will be provided in the fire company’s parking lot.
