Washington police obtained two arrest warrants for a 30-year-old Canton Township man accused of firing a shot at a man riding his motorcycle Monday and threatening a woman in the parking lot at 125 W. Beau Street with a handgun Tuesday night.

Zachary J. Sadler, of 1520 Jefferson Ave., is wanted on charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, person not to possess a firearm, firearms not to be carried without a license and driving under suspension in Monday’s incident and two counts of reckless endangerment and terroristic threats for Tuesday’s incident. The warrants were obtained from District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Police said a 32-year-old Washington man went to the city police station after he said Sadler fired a shot at him as he rode near Lincoln Terrace. The man said he was riding through the housing project when he spotted Sadler driving in the opposite direction. The man turned onto several streets in the area. He was on East Walnut Street approaching North College Street when Sadler reportedly closed in and fired a shot. After checking to make sure neither he nor his bike was hit, he drove directly to the police station to report the incident.

South Strabane Township police found the vehicle Sadler was driving at the Canton Township home where he was living. The vehicle was impounded. The woman living at the house gave police permission to search for Sadler, but he was not found inside the residence.

A 23-year-old Washington woman came to the station about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to report Sadler pointed a gun at her while she sat in her vehicle in the parking lot at 125 W. Beau.

She told police Sadler pulled up next to her in a vehicle and asked her whose vehicle she was driving. He then pointed a handgun at her and told her to tell some people he was coming for them and used racial slurs. He then drove off.

The woman, who had her 5-year-old child in the backseat of her vehicle at the time, was escorted home by police, who searched the area for Sadler.

He is also accused of pointing his weapon at people on a porch of a home Sunday on Allison Avenue. Sadler reportedly pulled up to the home. He acted as if he was going to get out of the car but instead showed a large, black semi-automatic pistol. The people on the porch went into the house and locked the door.

One witness told police he knew it was Sadler because Sadler’s brother reportedly broke a window at the witness’s home.

No charges were filed in Sunday’s incident.

Anyone with information on Sadler’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
