The Canonsburg woman who escaped from the custody of a Washington County sheriff’s deputy while at Washington Hospital about 5:30 a.m. today was found at about noon in Jefferson County, Ohio, along with the car she had reportedly stolen.

Angela Marie Lucci, 24, of 209 Perry Como St., was taken into custody near Steubenville by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies. Her father lives in the area and deputies and local police believed she may have been heading to his house. About 45 minutes after her escape, she stole a 2009 black Honda Accord from outside 402 Wilson Ave., that she reportedly ued to drive to Ohio.

The sherriff’s office obtained a warrant for her arrest on an escape charge Thursday from District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Lucci was placed in Washington County Jail Tuesday on $25,000 bond after being charged by Canonsburg police with forgery, receiving stolen property, access device fraud and conspiracy. When police took her into custody on those charges, Lucci had one stamp bag of suspected heroin, three Suboxone strips, about two dozen empty stamp bags, spoons and needles, said Detective Michael Ledger. She was arraigned by video Wednesday before District Judge David Mark on charges of possession of heroin, Suboxone and paraphernalia. Mark set bond on the drug charges at an additional $25,000.

Canonsburg police said she and another woman, Susan Lynn Phillips, 26, of 209 E. Second Ave., Langeloth, used credit cards stolen in a May 17 burglary at the Chartiers Avenue home of Teresa Bane.

Phillips was arraigned on the charges Wednesday and also placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.

The Washington County sheriff’s department provided no other details about why Lucci was hospitalized or how she managed to escape.
