An Allegheny County woman faces charges, including endangering the welfare of children and driving under the influence of alcohol, as a result of a crash early Monday in Robinson Township when she had her two young children in the vehicle.
Marcie Lynn Moore, 41, of Clinton, crashed her vehicle about 12:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Bulger-Candor Road, McDonald police said.
William Jordan of Midway told police he was going east on Bulger-Candor when he saw what appeared to be a single-vehicle crash.
He went to help the driver and contacted police because she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Moore told police she was on her way home with her two children, a 9-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl, when she swerved to avoid a deer that ran out in front of her vehicle.
She told police she had two beers.
While at the scene, police learned Moore’s husband removed a cigarette pack from the vehicle.
Police obtained the pack and said they found a smoking pipe with suspected marijuana inside it.
Moore, who police said had a blood-alcohol content almost double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed, also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
The charges will be filed at the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
