Former Washington Hospital executive named to new post

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — University Healthcare’s board of directors has tapped Anthony Zelenka to be the system’s new president and chief executive officer.

For the past seven years, Zelenka has served as the president and chief operating officer at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg. In his new role, Zelenka is responsible for both University Healthcare hospitals, including Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson.

Zelenka joined University Healthcare in March 2008 with more than 30 years of health care management experience. For most his career, he worked for Washington Hospital in Washington, Pennsylvania, where he served as vice president of clinical support services and plant operations.
