READING (AP) – Jurors resume deliberations Tuesday in the death penalty trial of one of two eastern Pennsylvana brothers charged with having killed two men and tortured and killed a woman.

The Reading Eagle reports jurors in Berks County deliberated for about four hours Monday in the case of 41-year-old Michael Wilkins of Ruscombmanor Township.

Wilkins and his 34-year-old brother Maurice are charged with first-degree murder and related counts. They were granted separate trials.

Prosecutors allege that they killed 22-year-old Rafael Alequin and 22-year-old Dario McLemore in a drug deal gone bad in December 2012.

Authorities also allege that they kidnapped and killed 26-year-old Jennifer Velez-Negron because was involved in the deal and witnessed the murders. Her charred body was found bound and gagged on a Lehigh County road.
