After a closed session of less than 10 minutes, the Washington County Prison Board terminated the employment of a part-time corrections officer whose probationary period expired Wednesday.

The county hired Natasha Mikush in March. The vote not to retain her as an employee was unanimous, with Deputy Controller Joshua Hatfield substituting for Controller Michael Namie.

As of the end of May, the jail housed 304 male inmates and 60 females. Of these, 200 are awaiting trial or sentencing.
