Waynesburg man accused of assaulting minor held for court
A Waynesburg man accused of fondling a girl at his Elm Street apartment earlier this month was held for court on all charges.
District Judge Louis Dayich Tuesday ordered Wayne Shriver, 23, of Waynesburg, to stand trial on felony charges of unlawful contact with a minor, false imprisonment and corruption of a minor, and one misdemeanor count of indecent assault.
Waynesburg police said the juvenile girl stopped at Shriver’s apartment on June 1 to use a phone charger when he allegedly tried to kiss her. When she told him no, police said he forced her onto the couch, held her by the throat with one hand and briefly reached down her pants.
Shriver’s public defender, Harry Cancelmi, could not be reached for comment Wednesday. Shriver remains jailed on $50,000 cash bond. A formal arraignment has not been scheduled.
