North Strabane Township police cited one of the two drivers involved in an accident at the four-way intersection of Route 980 and Route 519 Wednesday morning.

Leona Leasure, 67, of Eighty Four, faces traffic violations for allegedly driving through a stop sign and crashing into a vehicle driven by Craig Kuzak, 34, of Bridgeville. Both were transpored by ambulance to Canonsburg Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Their conditions were not immediately known.

Kuzak told police he was entering Route 519 from the off-ramp of Route 19 when he spotted a vehicle that was about to hit him on his right side. He attempted to speed up to avoid a collision, but he was struck by Leasure’s vehicle.

During a conversation at the hospital, Leasure told police she could not remember if she had stopped at the stop sign. She said she was driving between 30 and 35 miles per hour on Route 980.
