3 injured in Mt. Pleasant crash, one flown to hospital
Three people were hurt when a sport-utility vehicle overturned just after 1 p.m. today on Route 519 near Hickory in Mt. Pleasant Township.
The driver was identified by a relative as April Moss of Coraopolis and the passengers as Moss’s uncle, Donnie Higgins, and her grandmother, Charlotte Alderman.
Alderman was taken by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with what Fort Cherry Ambulance Chief Thomas Bruce said were serious injuries. Moss and Higgins were also taken to Allegheny General by ambulance with moderate injuries, he said.
The crash closed the road in both directions for about an hour but it has reopened. Mt. Pleasant Township police are investigating but provided no information at the scene.
