PITTSBURGH (AP) — A federal judge has cut two years off the sentence of a western Pennsylvania businessman accused of having obtained painkiller prescriptions under different names from a former Steelers team doctor.

Sixty-year-old William Zipf of Bethel Park cited a reduction in sentencing commission recommendations for several drug categories. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that court documents indicate that prosecutors didn’t oppose the motion, and a judge agreed to an eight-year term.

Zipf pleaded guilty in June 2013 to drug conspiracy and health care fraud. Prosecutors allege that former Steelers doctor Richard Rydze wrote him prescriptions under several names, and he filled them at different pharmacies to hide what he was doing. Rydze, who was on the Steelers’ medical staff for 22 years until 2007, is awaiting trial in the case.
