400 West Penn Power customers in North Strabane Township are still without power after lightning in the area knocked wires down early this morning, a spokesman for West Penn Power said.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, lightning knocked wires down along Linden Creek Road. Roughly 1,600 customers were without power, said Aaron Ruegg, a West Penn Power spokesman.

By 10 a.m., Ruegg said power was restored to all but 400 customers. He said crews were working on site to restore power to the remaining customers. Ruegg said they hoped to have the power restored to the remaining customers by 3 p.m.
