WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty last week before Greene County President Judge Farley Toothman and were sentenced. They included:
Robert J. Chambers, 37, of 490 West Roy Furman Highway, Wind Ridge; two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, five summary traffic violations; charged June 29, he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.171 percent; charged Nov. 27, he had a BAC of 0.137 percent; sentence – 5 ½ years of county intermediate punishment with the first 40 days in jail with work release privileges, followed by 80 days of alcohol and electronic monitoring.
Alexis P. Popielarcheck, 33, of 105 Third Street, Jefferson; DUI of a controlled substance, three summary traffic violations; charged Aug. 28; sentence – following preparation of a pre-sentence report; bail modified to permit inpatient drug and alcohol therapy.
Jesse Bahle, 42, of 10190 Fauncetown Road, Guys Mills; DUI and a summary traffic violation; charged Jan. 3, he had a BAC of 0.129 percent; sentence – 6 months of county intermediate punishment with first 30 days of house arrest with electronic and alcohol monitoring.
Belinda D. Nehls, 53, of 363 Sunshine Hollow Road, Uniontown; charged Nov. 6 with issuing a bad check for $3,000; sentence – 2 years of probation, restitution.
James R. Caldwell, 22, of 395 Pisgah Ridge Road, Waynesburg; simple assault; charged Feb. 2; sentence – 22 days in jail.
Marquel L. Bailey, 24, 146 West Lincoln St., Waynesburg; simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest and a summary offense; charged Feb. 15; sentence – 15 to 25 ½ months in jail, 200 hours of community service.
Russell W. Byrd, 57, of Morgantown, W.Va.; DUI, third offense in 10 years, driving while operating privileges suspended or revoked, two summary offenses; charged Oct. 3, he had a BAC of 0.160 percent; sentence – 180 days to 5 years in Greene County jail, 25 hours community service.
