Child endangerment: Stephanie E. Duff, 29, of California, faces a charge of endangering the welfare of a child after California police were called Tuesday to her California Terrace apartment to check on the well-being of an 11-year-old girl who was allegedly left alone and sick for several days. Police notified Washington County Children and Youth Services and the girl was placed in the care of her father.
Gun charge: Adam R. Greene, 30, of Vestaburg, was charged Wednesday with illegal sale of a firearm and unsworn falsification to authorities after he allegedly gave false information on an application to purchase a gun at Pfrogner’s Guns, 317 N. California Drive, California police said.
Two-vehicle accident: A Library woman was injured when her car was struck by a pickup truck driven by Mitchell T. Marty, 48, of Cedarhill Drive, McMurray, on Tuesday at the intersection of Heritage Meadows Drive and Cedarhill Drive, township police said. Lisa M. Morgan, 22, of Brownsville Road, was taken to St. Clair Hospital complaining of back pain.
Retail theft: A man and woman walked out of Kmart, 4041 Washington Road, McMurray, on Tuesday with a 32-inch television and a microwave oven, Peters police said.
Purse taken: A tan, leather Coach purse was taken Tuesday from an unlocked car parked in the driveway of a Gateshead Drive home in McMurray, township police said.
Guns stolen: Henry Flock Sr. of Spruce Streeet, told Southwest Regional police Sunday that a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun, Mossberg 20-gauge shotgun, Remington .30-06 caliber rifle, $140 and eight Vicodin pills were stolen from his home.
Suspicious activity: A township resident told Southwest Regional police she saw two men in their late 20s to early 30s going door to door in the 3400 block of Orchard Avenue on Saturday. While one man attempted to sell steaks, the other man was looking into the homes. They were driving a red pickup truck.
Access device fraud: Jason Biernacki of Union Township told Southwest Regional police Monday that his credit card was used to make three fraudulent purchases totaling $3,379.
Shot fired: Tim Kriston and Christopher Wingfield told city police a person in a blue truck fired one shot at them at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday at Baird and Allison avenues. Police said another person in the same truck made an obscene gesture at the two men.
