MONONGAHELA – A Monongahela woman is accused of forging phony prescriptions in attempts to obtain drugs under the name of a local physician.

Monongahela police also accuse the suspect, Emily Agnes Stanton, of pretending to be a state trooper in a voice message she left at the physician’s office in a failed attempt to clear her name in the investigation, court records show.

Stanton, however, neglected to block her phone number and her real name showed up in the caller identification on the phone at the office of Dr. Henry Holets while she pretended to be Trooper Stephani Plume, police stated in the affidavit.

Police said Stanton, 25, of 111 Route 837, had an appointment with Holets May 26 and she allegedly altered the dose on the prescription she received from him in order to obtain more of the drug than he prescribed for her. She is also accused of making several copies of the prescription and attempting to pass them at area pharmacies for two weeks after her appointment with Holets, the court record alleges.

She attempted to receive prescriptions for Xanax, Adderall and Ambien, and a Walmart in West Mifflin apparently was the only pharmacy to fill one of the prescriptions, police claim.

Holets’ office at 1290 Chess St. reported the scheme to city police June 10. Police said Stanton also attempted to use the name Susie Smith on the prescriptions.

Stanton is charged with impersonating a public servant, forgery, identity theft, tampering with records and illegally possessing prescription drugs. She is in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
