WAYNESBURG – Greene County Planning Commission granted final approval Monday to plans for the construction of a four-story apartment building for seniors on High Street in Waynesburg.
The 52-unit building, being developed by PIRHL Development LLC of Warrensville Heights, Ohio, will be built on the northeast corner of the intersection of High and East streets.
“I think it will be an attractive addition to that corner,” Todd Robie of PIRHL told the commission.
The L-shaped building will be constructed into the hillside and have its first floor and parking areas accessible from Nazer Street, Robie said.
The building will contain one- and two-bedroom apartments designed for independent seniors, 62 or older. Plans also call for a community room as well as space for activities and support services, Robie said.
Groundbreaking for the project could be held as early as April.
Plans for the project were earlier approved by Waynesburg Zoning Hearing Board. Borough council, in addition, agreed to contribute $50,000 toward the project over three years.
In other business, the commission granted preliminary approval to DJ Realty Holdings LLC to construct a medical building for addiction services in the Paisley Industrial Park in Cumberland Township.
A 4,800-square-foot building with 50 parking spaces will be constructed on Industrial Park Road inside the park.
To receive final approval, the developer, among other requirements, must submit an approved stormwater management plan and receive plan approval from the county conservation district.
The commission also granted preliminary approval to plans by EQM Gathering OPCO LLC to construct its Io Compressor Station on property off Woodies Run Road in Morgan Township.
The project will involve construction of a 12,580-square-foot compressor building and a 774 square foot control building.
The station will be built on a 181.5-acre parcel of land that will be formed by merging six other properties into one. The station itself will occupy about 3.7 acres.
To receive final approval, the developer, among other requirements, must submit an approved stormwater management plan and receive permit approvals from the state Department of Environmental Protection.
The commission granted final approval to EQM Gathering OPCO LLC’s Europa Compressor Station, which will be constructed off West Run Road in Center Township.
The project will include construction of a 5,676-square-foot compressor building and a 774.4-square-foot control building.
Final approval also was granted to Rice Poseidon Midstream LLC’s ASR meter station off Petit Road in Center Township. The project involves construction of a 1,340-square-foot prefabricated steel building.
