SHARON, Pa. (AP) — Police in western Pennsylvania were continuing to search for a man they described as “armed and dangerous” after the suspect shot another man at the suspect’s own birthday party and then reportedly fled to Ohio.

Sharon police have charged 31-year-old Michael Bagnall with criminal homicide in the shooting of 23-year-old Jaylen “Bubby” West, of Farrell.

Police say Bagnall was celebrating his birthday with friends when he pulled a gun during a disagreement and shot West about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Sharon police Chief Gerald Smith says an “eyewitness account” of the shooting enabled police to get an arrest warrant for Bagnall. According to online court records, Bagnall had still not been arrested by Monday morning.

The chief says U.S. marshals have joined the search because police believe Bagnall may have fled to Youngstown or Warren in Ohio.
