The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is welcoming new volunteers. Two informational volunteer open houses will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the museum near the Washington County Fairgrounds in Arden for those interested in getting involved. Light refreshments and tours will be provided.

The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum’s mission is to preserve and interpret Pennsylvania’s trolley era, an exciting time in American history. The museum’s collection has grown to 50 historic trolley cars and 2 miles of operating trolley line. Volunteers play a key role at PTM, with approximately 170 people contributing over 30,000 hours in 2014 and filling many different roles. The museum is now involved in a dramatic and exciting expansion program. This spring, the Wexford Trolley Station will be moving to its new home on the museum’s grounds.

Volunteers are needed in the areas of: marketing, museum store, guided tours, archives, maintenance and restoration, mobile equipment, buildings and grounds, special events and trolley operations.

Please RSVP to Lynne Thompson at educator@pa-trolley.org or 724-228-9256 for either date. Those who cannot make this event can contact Thompson to set up a time to visit.
