• Action: Supervisors authorized the police department to begin the promotion process for the rank of police lieutenant, a position that was budgeted for in 2015.
The board authorized Gateway Engineers to prepare to open bids for this year’s road paving project, which will cost $1,063,332, and another project to install a retaining wall along Coleman Road. Bids will be opened prior to the next regular meeting in April. Sections of roads that will be paved this year include Parkwood Circle; Pleasant, Monaco, Sunnycrest, Meadowcrest and Fieldcrest drives; and Klinger, Fawcett Church and King roads.
The board also authorized Gateway to estimate the cost of an alternate sewerage proposal that could potentially be cheaper and serve more residents than the Mt. Pleasant Township sewerage project. Mt. Pleasant’s project would extend service to 21 Southview residents, but supervisors said they could potentially extend the existing Millers Run sewage line to residents in Gilmore, in addition to Southview residents.
Supervisor Andy Schrader said two of the three soccer fields at Klinger Park will be ready for use this spring. He said money is still needed to build a proposed playground and concession stand at that site.
The board met in executive session to discuss litigation.
