McKEES ROCKS (AP) – Police say a suburban Pittsburgh man offered a baby sitter $100 to assault his ex-girlfriend and cause her to miscarry their unborn child.

John Frazier was arraigned Tuesday on charges of criminal solicitation to commit homicide of an unborn child and other offenses.

The 22-year-old Stowe Township man is free on bail pending a March 10 preliminary hearing. Online court records did not list a lawyer to comment on the charges.

Police say Frazier asked his baby sitter neighbor for help after his ex-girlfriend refused to have an abortion or give the child up for adoption.

They say the baby sitter was shocked and immediately refused.

Police say Frazier physically abused his ex-girlfriend in the past and sent her text messages saying he hated her and wished she was dead.
