Bailey Echegaray

WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Central High School seniors Bailey Echegaray and Matthew Desrosiers were selected by the high school faculty as the Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for February.

Echegaray, the daughter of Rudy and Tracy Echegaray of Waynesburg, has a 3.875 grade-point average.

She is a member of National Honor Society, student council, Spanish club, drama club, choral union and yearbook staff and is a varsity cheerleader.

Echegaray received various academic awards.

She was selected to perform in the county chorus festival for all four years and has performed in seven high school stage productions, two of which she held lead roles.

Echegaray attends Oak View United Methodist Church. She volunteers each summer at vacation Bible school and performs at local nursing homes with her church choir and the cheerleading squad.

Echegaray plans to attend a four-year college and major in communications.

Desrosiers, the son of Michael and Danielle Desrosiers of Waynesburg, has a 3.8 GPA.

He is a member of National Honor Society, St. Ann Catholic Church Youth Service Organization and Upward Bound and participates in theater, cross country, Relay for Life and The Future is Mine.

Desrosiers received the Upward Bound Certificate of Achievement and honor roll recognition, participated in a crime scene investigation camp and lettered in cross country.

He is a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine assistant teacher at his church, volunteers with the Knights of Columbus and participates in Upward Bound and Relay for Life activities.

Desrosiers plans to attend Waynesburg University and major in criminal justice.
