BOSTON (AP) — Survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing are steeling themselves for more gruesome testimony in the trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Testimony is set to resume Monday.

In the first two days of testimony, prosecutors called more than a dozen witnesses, including several survivors who described losing limbs in the 2013 bombing. The father of an 8-year-old boy who was killed described his frantic efforts to help all three of his injured children.

About two dozen survivors, friends and family members have been in the courtroom to listen to the testimony.

Three people were killed and more than 260 were injured when two bombs exploded near the finish line.

Tsarnaev’s lawyer says he committed the crime, but says he was recruited by his older brother. Tsarnaev faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted.
