An article in Tuesday’s edition stated an incorrect salary for Chet Henderson, who was hired as the junior high school principal in Washington School District. His salary will be $68,500. School administrators also clarified Tuesday that Henderson was the first black principal in more than 25 years. Melvin Claytor served as assistant principal at Washington Park Elementary School from 1987 to 1989.
