Two malfunctioning train crossing signals caused traffic delays for area motorists Monday and Tuesday.

The crossings at South Main Street in Washington and South Wade Avenue in East Washington signaled that a train was approaching when one was not. The confusion caused traffic backups.

Michael Filoni, director of marketing and sales for Allegheny Valley Railroad, which maintains the crossings, refused to provide information. Filoni said he would notify the necessary party about repairs.
