Drug, threat charges: Da’Quaan Laguant Lewis, 20, of Uniontown, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by California police on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and obstructing administration of law stemming from a domestic dispute at 1227 California Terrace. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and released from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.
Drug arraignment: Jill A. Crouse, 24, of 11 Lemon Hill Road, Prosperity, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge David Mark on charges of possession of heroin, marijuana and paraphernalia stemming from a Feb. 13 incident at Red Roof Inn, 1399 W. Chestnut St., Canton. State police were called to the motel for a possible overdose, and police say Crouse admitted taking heroin. Police said they found heroin, marijuana and paraphernalia in the room. Crouse was released on her own recognizance.
Assault, disorderly arrest: Robbie Lee Alvey, 29, of 805 Thomas St., Monongahela, was arrested Tuesday night by Monongahela police on charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct after he allegedly cut his wife, Cynthia Alvey, on her thumb during a confrontation at their home as they reportedly struggled over a folding knife. He told police he did not know how she got cut. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Charged in stop: James R. Chesleigh, 23, of West Mifflin, was charged last week by North Strabane police stemming from a Dec. 18 traffic stop at Route 19 and Fulton Road. Police said he was driving under the influence of a controlled substance when stopped. Police said they also found suspected Xanax and a switchblade in his vehicle. Charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance, having a prohibited offensive weapon and traffic violations will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Diesel fuel stolen: Diesel fuel was reported stolen Tuesday from a rig owned by Air Products & Chemicals Inc. of Austin, Texas, while it was parked at Fyda Freightliner, 20 Fyda Drive, North Strabane police said.
Probation violation: Police arrested William Henry White, 23, of Brownville Road, South Park, Tuesday at District Justice James Ellis’ office in McMurray after discovering White had an outstanding probabtion violation warrant from Allegheny County. White was transported to Allegheny County jail.
Two-car accident: A car that was headed south on Washington Road in McMurray, driven by Darlene Slifco, 54, of Shoreline Drive, McMurray, collided shortly before noon Tuesday with a car driven by Carol Rothhaar, 57, of Mervin Drive, Venetia. Police said Rothaar was stopped at Braun Drive and Washington Road. No one was injured, but both cars had to be towed.
Cash stolen: Police said $80 in cash was stolen Tuesday from a secure box at Allegheny Health Network, 122 Gallery Drive, McMurray. The incident remains under investigation.
DUI crash: Frederick Owens, 48, of Uniontown, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge David Mark on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under suspension, not having insurance and careless driving stemming from an Oct. 18 crash on Interstate 70 in South Strabane. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Charged in crash: Christian Michael Wilson, 23, of 213 Linn Ave., Washington, was charged last week by South Strabane police with DUI, leaving the scene of a crash and reckless driving after he allegedly wrecked into guardrails in the 500 block of Washington Road on Jan. 3. Police said they later spotted him staggering on the road. They said Wilson’s blood-alcohol content was almost four times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Cellphone stolen: Dustin S. Phillips of Washington told Washington police Tuesday he mistakenly left his cellphone at one of two Jefferson Avenue businesses. When he called his number, he got a text back that said “Who Dis?” When he asked for his phone back, the person who answered said it was his phone and he was tossing it.
