PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia police said funeral services were set for an officer fatally shot while trying to stop a video game store robbery.

Police said Thursday Officer Robert Wilson III’s funeral will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Palestra sports arena at the University of Pennsylvania.

The 30-year-old Wilson was killed March 5 at a GameStop store in north Philadelphia.

He stopped for a security check and to buy a game for his son.

Police said the father of two was getting the game to reward his son for good grades and for his 10th birthday, which was Monday.

Two brothers were charged with murder in Wilson’s death.
