GREENSBURG (AP) – Authorities in Western Pennsylvania say a man will face homicide charges following the death of a tattoo shop owner who was shot in the face in his shop.

Forty-four-year-old Christopher Patterson of Vandergrift was charged earlier in Westmoreland County with attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

Police allege that he shot 43-year-old Kevin Croney, owner of True Image Tattoo in New Kensington, on Friday afternoon.

New Kensington police chief Tom Klawinski said the two were arguing in the back room of the tattoo parlor and the dispute became physical.

Croney died at Allegheny General Hospital shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday.

Patterson was held in lieu of $1 million bond; a listed number for him couldn’t be found and court documents don’t list an attorney who could offer comment on the charges.
