Sign-ups began for Salvation Army’s Camp Allegheny Summer Camp.
The 110-acre camp near Ellwood City will welcome children ages 6-12 from June 22-27; and children ages 11-14 from July 24-29.
Activities will be offered for all ages and interests, including boating, archery, arts and crafts, hiking, sports, music, swimming and organized games. A nature and science center and various trails are also available on-site for the children.
Camp Allegheny focuses on Christian principles and promotes an awareness of God in nature.
The camp can accommodate 250 campers. The children stay in clean, comfortable cabins that feature toilets, showers and a recreational area. Two groups of children stay in each cabin with their counselors. Sheets and blankets are provided for each camper.
The camp provides three meals a day and a snack before bed. It also operates its own health center.
For more information or to register for the camp, visit The Salvation Army at 131 W. First St., Waynesburg., or call Sister Audrey Quinn at 724-852-1479.
