Two hurt: Ralph McGee, 85, of North Strabane, and his wife, Marilyn McGee, 71, were injured when their car and a pickup truck driven by Anthony Andronas, 32, of North Strabane, collided about 4 p.m. Monday on Route 19 at Zeman Drive. North Strabane police said that McGee pulled out of a parking lot and was attempting to make a U-turn to go north when the vehicles collided. McGee was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh while his wife was taken to the same hospital by ambulance. Andronas was not injured. The northbound lane was closed to traffic for about 45 minutes and one lane on the southbound side was closed. Canonsburg and South Strabane Township police assisted with traffic control.
Motorcyclist injured: Glenn Buchheimer, 54, of Muse, was injured Monday night when his motorcycle was struck by a car driven by Melinda Coleman, 23, of North Strabane. North Strabane police said Coleman was going south on Morganza and attempting to turn onto McClelland Road. Buchheimer was taken to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh.
Two restaurants cited: The operators of Harry’s Pizza and El Campesino, both of Waterdam Centre, 4133 Washington Road, Peters, were cited Monday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly selling alcohol to a minor Jan. 29.
Gas cards stolen: Ralph Galizia, no address available, told South Strabane police that gasoline cards were stolen from his plow trucks parked at Tanger Outlets by a former employee who used them to get more than $200 in gas for his personal vehicle.
Drug overdose: Julian Gallegus, 21, of 1035 Maple Ave., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia after he allegedly overdosed on the drug Monday afternoon in the parking lot of Walgreen’s, Jefferson Avenue. Police found him with a syringe, four stamp bags of the suspected drug and four empty stamp bags. Inside a bathroom at the store, police said a syringe and additional empty stamp bags were found. Gallegus was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Equipment stolen: Washington police said six, 18-volt batteries, two battery chargers, drill bits, Sawzall and tool bag were stolen from a contractor working at Washington Arbors, 154 N. College St. The theft was reported Monday. Some of the items were sold to a local pawn shop.
Carpet stretcher stolen: Jeff Moore of 1200 Fayette St. told Washington police Monday a carpet stretcher was stolen from his home. A neighbor reported seeing a blond woman leave his home with it.
PFA violation: Robert Cox, 27, who Washington police said is homeless, was arrested Monday by police for allegedly violating a protection-from-abuse order obtained by his wife, Virginia Cox, by going to her home. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $100,000.
