The Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency is making applications available for its 2015 Tourism Grants Program.

Funded through the county’s 3 percent hotel room tax revenue, the grants program is offered to local nonprofit organizations engaged in tourism promotion and/or development in Washington County.

Organizations seeking funding for tourism marketing or capital projects aimed at increased or enhanced visitation can apply for the grants.

Deadline for receipt of applications is April 9.

Grants are awarded based on the ability to attract a majority of visitors from outside Washington County; the potential to attract overnight stays; an ability to attract cross-spending and return visits; an effective time frame; and the greatest potential for tourism impact.
