WAYNESBURG – Two people were sentenced this week to serve 5 years in the Greene County Intermediate Punishment Program in unrelated cases by Judge Farley Toothman.

Damian Quinn Dorsey, 20, of 456 Cracraft Road, South Franklin Township, Washington County, pleaded guilty in December to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol second offense, DUI by a minor, DUI incapable of safe driving and four summary traffic violations. He was arrested July 6 in Carmichaels.

State police said Dorsey’s former girlfriend, Alisha Dawn Yeager, reported an assault by Dorsey at his former residence, located at 120 Stringtown Road. Yeager alleged Dorsey punched her in the eye following an argument about Yeager making a phone call. Trooper Brian Siege said Yeager’s eye was red and swollen when he spoke with her in person.

Yeager said Dorsey then pointed a rifle at her and told her to leave. She said she did not know if the gun was loaded but she ran from the home, according to the criminal complaint.

Siege went to Dorsey’s residence, but he was not there. He later passed Dorsey’s vehicle as it was turning onto Stringtown Road. Siege said Dorsey pulled into a driveway behind his house and fled on foot. As Siege passed Dorsey’s vehicle, he noticed two open containers of beer in the front console.

Seige said he found Dorsey hiding on the porch of a nearby residence and placed him under arrest. His blood-alcohol content was 0.17 percent.

Dorsey was ordered to pay fines of $2,500 in addition to court costs and fees. He is to perform 250 hours of community service. The first 30 days of his intermediate punishment sentence are to be served in jail on weekends.

Nicole Lou Spencer, 33, of 161 Crabapple Valley Road, New Freeport, pleaded guilty on March 6 to driving under the influence of alcohol incapable of safe driving, resisting arrest and five summary traffic violations.

Spencer was arrested on April 28 in Freeport Township. State police said Spencer ran the Chevy Silverado pickup truck she was driving down an embankment at Main Street and Fox Hill in New Freeport. New Freeport volunteer firewoman Juaniata Phillips told police Spencer refused treatment.

Phillips said the owner of the truck, Mark Miller, arrived on scene, carried Spencer to his vehicle and, left the area, according to a criminal complaint.

Trooper Joseph Popielarcheck spoke with Spencer at Miller’s residence. Popielarcheck said Spencer admitted having a few drinks but became irate when he asked her to step outside for sobriety testing. Spencer began to swing her arms and body in an attempt to prevent Popielarcheck from placing her under arrest and had to be taken to the ground. Popielarcheck transported her to Southwest Regional Medical Center where Spencer refused a blood test.

Spencer is ordered to pay $2,125 in fines, plus court costs and fees. She must perform 250 hours of community service. She is to serve the first nine months of her sentence under house arrest.
